EcoVolt Ltd supplies heat pumps, ventilation systems, hot water cylinders, and electric heating products throughout Ireland. This Returns & Refund Policy outlines your rights and our procedures in accordance with Irish and EU consumer protection legislation, including the Consumer Rights Act 2022 and EU Distance Selling Regulations.

This policy applies to purchases made directly from EcoVolt Ltd via our website, telephone, or email.

1. 14-Day Cooling-Off Period (Online & Distance Sales – Ireland)

If you purchase products from EcoVolt Ltd online or via distance selling, you have the legal right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving any reason.

To exercise this right, you must notify us in writing:

You then have a further 14 days to return the goods.

Conditions of Cancellation:

  1. Goods must be unused and in fully resalable condition
  2. Products must not have been installed, connected, filled with water, powered on, commissioned, or integrated into a heating or ventilation system
  3. Goods must be returned in original packaging, including pallets and protective materials
  4. The customer is responsible for arranging and paying for return delivery
  5. We strongly recommend insured and trackable transport for high-value heating equipment
  6. If the goods show signs of handling beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics, and functioning, a deduction may be made from the refund.

2. Free Delivery Over €1,000 – Return Implications

  1. EcoVolt Ltd offers free delivery on orders over €1,000 (incl. VAT) within Ireland.
  2. If an order that qualified for free delivery is cancelled or returned:
  3. The actual outbound delivery cost incurred by EcoVolt Ltd will be deducted from the refund
  4. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer
  5. Goods remain the customer’s responsibility until safely received at our premises
  6. Free delivery applies to completed purchases only and does not apply where goods are returned.

3. Non-Returnable Products

Due to the specialist and technical nature of EcoVolt heating and ventilation products, the following items are non-returnable unless faulty:

  1. Installed or commissioned heat pumps
  2. Monobloc or split heat pump systems once connected
  3. Pre-plumbed hot water cylinders once filled or connected
  4. Ventilation systems once ducting is opened or fitted
  5. Electrical components once powered
  6. Custom-built, special-order, or made-to-order products
  7. Clearance, promotional, or discounted sale items
  8. Products purchased by trade customers for commercial installation
  9. These products cannot be resold once installation or commissioning has occurred.

4. Condition of Returned Goods & Restocking Fees

  1. All returned goods are subject to inspection upon receipt.
  2. EcoVolt Ltd reserves the right to:
  3. Refuse returns showing signs of installation, damage, or use
  4. Deduct costs for missing parts, damaged packaging, or testing requirements
  5. Apply a restocking fee of up to 25% where goods require inspection, testing, repackaging, or administrative processing
  6. The restocking fee reflects:
  7. Technical inspection of heating equipment
  8. Electrical safety testing
  9. Repackaging and pallet replacement
  10. Warehouse handling and administration
  11. Potential loss in resale value
  12. Returns made outside the statutory 14-day cooling-off period are accepted at EcoVolt Ltd’s sole discretion.

5. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Goods

  1. Under Irish consumer law, customers are entitled to remedies where goods are:
  2. Faulty
  3. Not as described
  4. Not fit for purpose

If you believe your EcoVolt product is faulty:

Contact info@ecovolt.ie immediately.

Provide proof of purchase.
Provide photographs and serial number details.
Do not attempt unauthorised repair.

We may arrange:

  1. Inspection
  2. Repair
  3. Replacement
  4. Refund (where legally applicable)

Damage must be reported within 48 hours of delivery to allow courier claims to be processed.

6. Refund Processing

Once a return is approved:

  1. Refunds are issued to the original payment method
  2. Processing time is typically 5–10 working days
  3. Bank processing times may vary
  4. Refunds do not include:
  5. Installation or commissioning costs
  6. Labour charges
  7. System design services
  8. Delivery charges (where applicable)
  9. Return shipping costs

7. Trade & Business Customers

Products purchased by installers, contractors, developers, or businesses are classified as trade sales.

Trade customers:

  1. Do not benefit from statutory cooling-off rights
  2. Must obtain return authorisation before sending goods
  3. May be subject to restocking fees
  4. Must return goods in original saleable condition
  5. Speculative ordering of heating systems may incur higher restocking charges.

8. Exchanges

Exchanges are available only where:

  1. Goods are defective
  2. Incorrect goods were supplied by EcoVolt Ltd
  3. Exchange requests must be authorised in writing before goods are returned.

9. Warranty

This Returns Policy does not affect your statutory rights or the manufacturer’s warranty applicable to specific EcoVolt products.

Warranty terms vary depending on the product and installation requirements.
